Dear modern photographer,
Are you a want-to-be, fair, good, great, amateur, or professional photographer or any combination of these?
Are you like I was, a very good amateur whose been blessed to turn a love of photography into a profession that pays?.
I’ve carried my cameras all over the country (for over thirty years) always striving for that “wow image.” hoping someday someone would actually pay me to do what I love, photography.
I was slow to go digital because I just wasn’t a technical. I was an artist, old-school and creative. I fought going digital.
It wasn’t until Minolta made digital cameras (that worked with my old lenses) that I decided to take the leap.
Only problem was, “technicals” and I didn’t speak the same language.
I spoke artistic and they spoke alien or some unknown tongue laced with words like: megapixels, RAW and interlaced JPEGS.
Then a technical, (who is not artistic) told me about a photographer he knew.
He said he might be willing to take me on as a student. I was l concerned about any suggestion from a computer tech. What would a tech know about artistry?
The photographer was a guy named, Steve Douglass and he was local, but I wasn’t convinced. I was afraid he’s just be another techno-speaking geek who’d just leave me scratching my head.
But I have to say, after I met the man and we began talking, I was pleasantly surprised. Since that day my photographic world changed., drastically.
He spoke artistic/photography/and down to earth “here’s how to do it.” not in techno-double speak. He not only made the transition from film to digital painless, he made it fun.
So, if you want to learn from the best, most considerate, extremely capable, easy going, very patient, skilled and awesome photographer, do as I did and call Steve (806-353-9484).
You’ll be very happy you did.
But do this only “if” you want to be a better photographer and are prepared to listen, do the work and change the way you see.
Not only did I get my photographic monies worth, I got a better deal than that.
I got a friend! It’s a “win-win” situation. Hard to find these days. Don’t miss out!
Steve, thank you for all you’ve done for me, taught me and for your friendship.
Photographically yours,
